Written Wrestling: The Official Countdown has begun

writtenwrestling:

Again, I haven’t been giving Tumblr the time of day like I thought I would because I now have two jobs to save up for our trip and school and partying on the weekends is taking up all of my time. As of today, I will officially officially officially be back for good though with updating and liveblogging and whatnot instead of just tweeting. I know I’ve taken hiatuses and then come back like 3982759834 times and each time I come back it never lasts, but it truly will this time. You want to know why? Because the countdown has officially begun.

In exactly one month from today, Jenna and I are leaving for Tampa to then make our way to Miami for WrestleMania 28. We’ll be staying there until April 2nd.

In that time span of a week we’ll be attending Axxess where I’ll finally be meeting my idol Edge, and she’ll be meeting her inspiration CM Punk, we’ll attend the HOF ceremony, and then of course the actual PPV. Also during that time we’re going to be meeting a lot of people from Tumblr including Caffren, Sarah, Jocelyn, and some others.

I don’t think any of ya’ll understand how completely excited I am for this. This is my 2nd WrestleMania in a row and to share it with my bestfriend is something I still can’t even comprehend. The drive is going to be long and I’m sure there will be some hardships but it will all be worth it. We’re going to be blogging our experience over on http://ginnyandjennagotowm28.tumblr.com/

SO MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO FOLLOW. We’ll be posting pictures, videos, and updates.

We’re exactly two months away from WrestleMania!

AND I’M FREAKING OUT, MAN.

-Jen

Today Ginny and I woke up early to buy Axxess tickets.

And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but on March 29, 2012, I am meeting CM Punk and Ginny is meeting Edge. To say this is one of the best days of my life is a complete understatement, and I know Ginny feels the same way. These two men are our idols and the fact that we know for sure that we get to meet them in Miami is an amazing feeling, one that I can’t really put into words. I’m excited, I’m nervous, and I can’t believe this is happening. On March 29, our dreams come true. I just can’t believe it.

I JUST BOUGHT ME AND JENNA’S HALL OF FAME TICKETS!!!

writtenwrestling:

Alongside Edge, the Four Horsemen were announced to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year in Miami. It’s going to be an honor too see these legends inducted into the Hall of Fame. March 31, 2012 is going to be one special night.

Diamonds are forever, and so are the Horsemen.

writtenwrestling:

You all know it. I’ve told you all far too many times, but I’m going to go ahead and profess this again. Edge was, is, and will always be my favorite professional wrestler of all time. I’ve written countless paragraphs towards this man, saying how much I love and adore him and everything he’s done for this business, but I feel that after what was revealed last night, I should write something like that one more time.

When the HOF video package came up, I was expecting Mil Mascaras’ induction announcement to ring true on my TV screen, but then all of a sudden I saw the bouncing of the ropes and instantly broke down. Tears streamed down my face and I started shaking uncontrollably. I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that this was happening.

Edge. A 38 year old man. To most, hearing that he’s retired would pose as a shock considering he’s so young, but us as wrestling fans know that this is nothing foreign. We all know why and how he retired, and I try not to think about it. It still makes me cry. But I know that in the end, this is all for the best. Here’s a man who will go down into the HOF as the youngest inductee of all time. Here’s a man who grew up with a love and passion for professional wrestling, and was voted “Most Likely to Win a WWE Championship” when he was in high school. This man went on to pursue his dream, with his best friend by his side to become:

  • The most decorated Superstar in all of WWE history
  • One half of the greatest tag teams of all time
  • One half of (to me) the sexiest and greatest wrestling couple of all time alongside Lita
  • One of the greatest men to be able to transform into his character so perfectly and show a charisma that I still think is unmatched to this day

He also showed me more than Shawn Michaels that a boyhood dream can come true. I don’t think any of you can truly comprehend how happy and elated I am for Edge. This was his life. His dream. And he became one of the greatest of all time and now in less than three months he’s given the honor of being inducted into a place where his legacy and passion for this business will be remembered forever. And I’m going to be in that American Airlines Arena alongside him in the crowd, clapping, screaming, and bawling my eyes out. Some say that his induction is far too soon. It very well may be considering ‘Mania’s going to be in Toronto soon, but there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s no denying this man deserves it. He deserves this more than most and it still has not processed through my head that I was able to watch his official last match at WrestleMania 27, only to see him be inducted into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame only a year later.

It’s not like he can read this but Edge…thank you. Thank you for every ounce of passion and heart you’ve poured into this company. Thank you for every hilarious five second pose. Thank you for every gut wrenching bump. Thank you for delivering promos that stand tall in my mind to this day. Thank you for at one time falling in love with one of my favorite Divas of all time and having live sex in the ring for my enjoyment ;) Thank you for being just an overall perfect man filled with humor, courtesy, and heart. Thank you for your beard growing and plaid shirt sporting, and of course thank you for all of your badass jacket wearing. Just thank you. For everything. You deserve this wholeheartedly and watching your metamorphosis over the years and viewing you chase and capture your dream at the top of this sports entertainment ladder puts even more fire into my heart to chase my dream as a wrestler as well. You have impacted my life so much and for making me fall in love with pro wrestling all over again I am forever grateful.

It’s official.

As you all know, Jenna and I had been fantasizing about going to WrestleMania 28 together for almost a year now. We daydreamed about it, planned it, tried to talk our parents into it, and even though we didn’t know for sure if we would end up going, we created this blog anyway just in hopes that our dream would come true.

Well, it’s official. We’re going to be attending WrestleMania 28 in Miami, Florida.

We’ve gone through so, so much to make this happen. Jenna even typed out a six page paper including a pie chart to convince her parents. She ended up sending it to me, which I added to and then had a final discussion with my parents. There were some bumps in the road at first, but we know that we can handle the grueling car ride and everything that gets thrown in our way travel wise. The ending decision honestly has me in disbelief. Just the fact that we’ll be taking a road trip to Florida, meeting up with Sarah, then going to Axxess, the HOF ceremony, the actual PPV and hopefully FCW and ROH in between just blows my mind. You all don’t understand how incredibly stoked both of us are. We’re finally meeting, and actually attending The Granddaddy of Them All as best friends and super fans. I don’t even know if this post is understandable because I’m still shaking, but just know that we are indeed attending WrestleMania 28 next year.

I still can’t comprehend this.

My Complete WrestleMania 27 Experience

writtenwrestling:

The news of WrestleMania 28 tickets going on sale soon on November 5th has started to give me butterflies already. As you all know, I attended WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta last year, and I’m attending 28 next year with Jenna. In the newest issue of Fair to Flair quarterly, bits and pieces of my ‘Mania 27 experience were published. What was published in there was a little bit watered down though, considering all of the ‘Mania writers wrote too many words and everything had to be shortened.

In my college level English class this year, we had to write an essay about a defining experience in our life, and I wrote a more complete piece of my trip. It still doesn’t share every.single.detail, but I figured I’d finally share it with all of you. So…enjoy.
